Marseille eye deal for Chelsea winger after talks stall over Newcastle flop
BERTRAND TRAORE has emerged as a possible target for Marseille due to frustration in their bid to re-sign Florian Thauvin.
Bertrand Traore could leave the club in January
Thauvin left the Ligue 1 side in the summer to join Newcastle for around £12million.
But he has failed to adapt to English football, starting just three games this season.
Marseille are keen to take Thauvin back but Newcastle are unwilling to let him leave until a replacement is found.
And according to French outlet La Provence, they have now been offered Traore on loan until the end of the season instead.
Traore has played just 60 minutes of football for Chelsea in three appearances so far this term.
Last month, Chelsea's dutch scout Piet de Visser claimed Traore is being wasted on the bench.

He told Dutch magazine Voetbal International: "At the moment he is being wasted on the bench at Chelsea.
"That is a shame, as Bertrand is a super talent.
"He has a tremendous technique and is cool in finishing. At Vitesse he stood out, at Ajax he would be working with better players."
