Chelsea have had a bid for Adrian Semper turned down by Dinamo Zagreb
The Premier League champions sent representatives to discuss a reported £3.1million bid for the 18-year-old, but the Croatian club rejected their approach.
Mamic admits it was difficult to turn down such a sum for a teenager, but knows Zagreb can benefit from his services if only for a small period.
"Chelsea representatives have been in Zagreb, where they have prepared a great offer," the Dinamo coach said.
"They were professional and pleasant people, but we said no. It is never easy to reject such a big offer for a young player.
