Manchester United and Chelsea handed massive transfer boost as defender hints at exit
MARQUINHOS is considering leaving Paris Saint-Germain amidst rumours of Manchester United and Chelsea chasing him.
Louis van Gaal and Guus Hiddink are both eyeing moves for the young defender
The 21-year-old joined PSG from Roma in 2013 for €31.4million (£23million) but now finds himself riding the bench in Paris more often than not.
And although the Brazilian accepts he must be back-up to David Luiz and Thiago Silva at the moment, he seems tempted by a summer move.
“Like everyone else, I always want to be part of the starting lineup,” Marquinhos told Le JDD.
PSG are on track to win a third consecutive title, 19 points clear of Monaco in second, but the Champions League is the real goal.
The Paris side will face Chelsea again in the last 16, a chance for Marquinhos to impress a prospective club - if he plays.
“Champions League, you have to lose before winning,” he said.
“Learning from mistakes. It's been three years that we were close but was eliminated.
“The team has gained experience and improved further this year. Maybe it'll count.
“We have to play Chelsea again. It’s starting to get a little clasico. It would be nice to win a good game.”
