Louis van Gaal fears for his job after Norwich stun Manchester United at Old Trafford
MANCHESTER UNITED boss Louis van Gaal candidly confessed that he feared for his job adding: “I am, but maybe now I have to say I WAS a successful manager.”
Louis van Gaal is now doubting his own credentials as Manchester United boss
Van Gaal looked befuddled and bemused after a third straight defeat as some bookmakers installed Jose Mourinho as an odds on favourite to become Old Trafford’s next boss.
The Dutchman said: “You have to win against Norwich City. You have to win your home games. The problem is how do you manage to come out of a bad period.
“It can only be done when you are sticking together. You have to show a professional attitude and evaluate yourselves.”
“That is happening now, I can’t close my eyes to that. It was very difficult today. I have said something to the players but it’s for the dressing room not you.
“I have belief in myself. I don’t think a change of manager can bring direct success.
“The next game is Stoke City [away on Boxing Day] and then we have Chelsea. We have to bring back our confidence. What I saw against Norwich wasn’t good enough.”
