Liverpool received the results of a scan on the Croatian defender’s right knee today and were relieved he had not endured a serious injury after being stretchered off during Sunday’s 2-2 draw with West Brom.
Lovren felt the force of a full-blooded tackle by Craig Gardner and his right leg was put in a protective splint as he was carried off.

He needed five stitches in a gash in his knee and the joint remains badly bruised and severely swollen.
It means an exact prognosis on how long Lovren will be out is difficult, but Liverpool believe it could be between three weeks and a month.
