Liverpool handed transfer boost with former team-mate unsure if England man will stay put
JACK BUTLAND leave Stoke for a bigger club, according to his former team-mate Thomas Sorensen.
Butland has his eyes on the England number 1 shirt
The 22-year-old is in the form of his life for Stoke, with six clean sheets so far this season, a number only beaten by England number one Joe Hart.
And with big clubs including Liverpool and Manchester United queuing up to win Butland's signature, Sorensen, who played alongside him at Stoke until leaving for Australia this summer, is not convinced Mark Hughes will be able to hang onto his man.
"It's hard to judge," Sorensen told FourFourTwo.
"It's been a good row of goalkeepers," Sorensen added.
"They have been spoiled, going back to Gordon Banks.
"It's weird to think Begovic, myself and Butland were at the club at the same time, which is ridiculous really.
"I think it's made everyone better. It benefited Butland. We had a great mix and we are all good friends."
