Van Nistelrooy holds the record of scoring in 10 consecutive matches for United which Vardy will draw level with, if he scores against Newcastle tomorrow.
Van Nistelrooy posted a picture of himself, on his personal Instagram account, celebrating after setting the record in a 2-1 over Newcastle in 2003.
The caption said: "#Records are there to be broken.. Go on vardy7, all the best and good luck!"

Should Vardy match Van Nistelrooy's record, his next target will be the all-time record for top-flight matches in England.
The holder of that title is former Sheffield United striker Jimmy Dunne, who scored in 12 consecutive games in the 1931/32 season.
