Norwich emerge as surprise candidates to sign £22m Arsenal and West Ham target
NORWICH CITY have stepped up their bid to sign Juventus striker Simone Zaza, according to reports.
Simone Zaza (centre) has scored just twice for Juventus all season
Zaza, 24, only joined Juve from Sassuolo in the summer after his joint-ownership was resolved.
He has scored just two goals for the Turin club and has been used primarily as a substitute for their domestic and Champions League games.
They have scored just 16 league goals all season and manager Alex Neil is reportedly keen on bringing in new recruits.
A move for Zaza would come as a surprise, however, as both Arsenal and West Ham were known suitors of the player during the summer.
Result more important than performance against Swansea - Neil
Arsenal were even thought to have prepared a £22million swoop for the striker and back in September it was claimed they would move for him come January.
Norwich are unlikely to shell out what would be a club record transfer fee at £22m on Zaza but Gazzetta claim the player may try and force through a move as he eyes a place in Antonio Conte's Euro 2016 squad.
