Steven Gerrard could retire next year after dropping hints on his future with LA Galaxy.
The former Liverpool captain only moved to the MLS in July and has scored two goals in 14 appearances in his first season.
Galaxy suffered a defeat to the Seattle Sounders in the MLS Cup on Wednesday but Gerrard hopes his side can come back fighting next year.
"It could be my last season as a footballer," he said. "I certainly don’t want to feel like I’m feeling right now come next year.
"I’d love to go out on a high. It’s a long season and I only came here for the last four months, but I’ll certainly be better for the experience next year."
