Why Ligue 1 star ignored Man Utd interest to 'make history' and win the Champions League
LUCAS MOURA has revealed he ignored summer transfer speculation because he wants to stay at Paris Saint-Germain and win the Champions League.
Lucas Moura has been linked with Manchester United repeatedly during the last three years
The Brazilian was heavily linked with Manchester United before his move to France from Sao Paulo in 2013.
Speculation about a switch to Old Trafford was rife once again this summer but the 23-year-old insists he had no intentions of moving, hinting he has more of a chance to win Europe's premier competition with his current club.
He also claimed he would find it difficult to leave Paris after expressing his love for the French capital.
"I love being in Paris," he said.
"I want to make history. I feel that I can win the Champions League with PSG.
"But it is not only the club, but also life in Paris which is fantastic. That’s why I want to stay here long."
Sadio Mane has caught the eye again after a stunning display against Chelsea
Manchester United - Most Expensive Transfers
Meanwhile, United are reportedly keen to reignite their interest in Southampton attacker Sadio Mane.
Mane caught the eye as Ronald Koeman's side won 3-1 at Chelsea on Saturday, with the Senegal international grabbing a goal and an assist.
Louis van Gaal made a bid that was knocked back in the summer but the Manchester Evening News claim they could go back in again in January.
Saints boss Koeman has already said Mane, 23, will leave the club one day.
