Wenger: Arsenal can beat Manchester United… victory over Leicester proved that!
ARSENE WENGER says Arsenal are in a good position to great Manchester United this Sunday after overcoming undefeated Leicester City last weekend.
Arsenal beat Leicester City 5-2 last weekend
The Gunners host United at the Emirates having lost to their rivals 2-1 in this fixture last season.
In fact, March's FA Cup quarter-final triumph over the Red Devils was Arsenal's only win in their last nine meetings with the Old Trafford club.
And they boast just one league win in 13 most recent clashes.
Yet Wenger insists Arsenal's 5-2 victory over Leicester - which came before a 3-2 loss to Olympiakos in midweek - is all the spur his side need to topple United.
"The rivalry is down to the quality of the day and by coincidence the last game we played against Man United we beat them," Wenger said, although they actually drew 1-1 with United in the Premier League two months after their 2-1 FA Cup win.

"We have just won 5-2 at Leicester and we are the only team that's beaten Leicester so I don't see why we should not believe we can beat Man United.
"The benchmark is your last game."
Arsenal have lost three games in five heading into Sunday's 4pm kick off, while United are riding on the back of four straight victories.

United sit top of a Premier League table, one point above Manchester City and a further two in front of Arsenal.
And Wenger insists the title race is far too early to call.
"It is a special fixture because usually Manchester United are always fighting at the top.
"It has a big meaning now because there are three points between the two teams, we play at home in a big game and we have just come from a big win at Leicester and we want to continue our run."
