Brendan Rodgers reveals just how bad Jordan Henderson's foot injury really is
JORDAN HENDERSON'S eight-week injury is a "big blow" to Liverpool, manager Brendan Rodgers has conceded.
Jordan Henderson has been ruled out for around eight weeks
Henderson broke his metatarsal and will likely have an operation on Monday.
The club captain is set to miss up to 11 Reds matches, while he will also sit out of England's Euro 2016 qualifiers with Estonia and Lithuania next month.
“It is a big blow because obviously in the last few games we miss a player of that quality," Rodgers said before his side's Premier League clash with Norwich City.
“It was just unfortunate. He had a problem with his heel and felt fine, then came in and broke his fifth metatarsal.
“It is a big blow for us and obviously a big blow for Jordan.”
In some good injury news for Liverpool, meanwhile, Daniel Sturridge returned to the starting line up for the first time since April.
Sturridge impressed at Anfield, having endured 11 months of injury woes since pulling a thigh muscle on England duty last year.
