Tottenham plan shock raid after West Brom snub with £15m bid for Newcastle star Perez
TOTTENHAM will make a late bid to sign Newcastle forward Ayoze Perez, according to reports.
Ayoze Perez is reported to be a shock target for Tottenham
The Daily Mail claim Spurs are willing to pay £15million to prise the Spanish star form the north east.
West Brom's Saido Berahino was Spurs' top target but the Baggies are standing firm and refusing to sell their star player.
And Perez has emerged as a shock target ahead of the transfer deadline on September 1.
The 22-year-old was the shining light in an otherwise dismal 2014-15 campaign for the Magpies.
Reports suggest they are not keen to sell and that Perez is happy at the club.
But Spurs believe he could be tempted by a move to the capital and will step up their interest in the coming hours.
Saido Berahino Player Profile
The Spain Under-21 international was signed from Tenerife for just £1m last summer, despite interest from both Real Madrid and Barcelona.
In 36 Premier League appearances he found the back of the net on seven occasions.
Spurs are also reported to be in the hunt for Chelsea winger Victor Moses.
Moses is expected to sign a new long-term deal at Stamford Bridge but will be allowed to leave on loan for the remainder of the current campaign.
