Arsenal eye deal for Portuguese star as doubts remain over Nacho Monreal
LORIENT defender Raphael Guerreiro could be on the way to Arsenal, according to reports in France.
Arsenal - Most Expensive Transfers
The 21-year-old, born in France but plays for Portugal, has attracted the interest of the Gunners according to French publication France Football.
Guerreiro represented Portugal's under-21s this summer in the European Championships and played against Gareth Southgate's England side.
The left-back is viewed as an option for Arsene Wenger if Nacho Monreal moves back to Spain.
Monreal has been linked with a move to Athletic Bilbao despite being Arsenal's first choice left-back ahead of Kieran Gibbs.
Raphael Guerreiro could be a replacement for Nacho Monreal
However the Spaniard, who joined in January 2013, is yet to hold negotiations with the club over a new contract.
With the transfer window closing on Tuesday at 6pm, Arsenal could be in the market for several players.
