Manchester United reportedly have 72 hours to tie up a deal for Pedro.
The Barcelona winger is widely expected to leave the Camp Nou and United are thought to have agreed personal terms for the 22-year-old.
But according to Spanish paper Mundo Deportivo, Pedro won't wait forever to seal a United deal.
The report suggests if a deal isn't completed in the next 72 hours, Pedro could end up staying with the Catalan giants.
Former United goalkeeper Raimond van der Gouw thinks his old club need a 'special' striker to accompany Rooney.
The Red Devils have been linked with a plethora of forwards including Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Harry Kane.
Pedro appears to be Manchester United bound
And Van der Gouw told talkSPORT: "You need a good striker but you also need something special, something extra and maybe they need one [of those type of players.
"I thought they had very good strikers but most of them are gone. I think they need an extra striker."
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is wanted by AC Milan, according to reports.
Wayne Rooney - Spotlight On
The 33-year-old has been chased by Manchester United and Chelsea.
But the club's president Silvio Berlusconi says Ibrahimovic would be welcome with open arms.
"I want him too,” Berlusconi told fans.
“If Ibra wants to come, we’re waiting for him with open arms. Let’s hope.”
