Brendan Rodgers: Why I've doubled up on England experience
BRENDAN RODGERS says James Milner's commitment to Liverpool made him an obvious choice for vice-captain.

The Liverpool manager revealed 29-year-old Milner will play understudy to Jordan Henderson just weeks after signing for the club.
Milner joined the Reds on a free transfer from Manchester City this summer, where he won two Premier League titles, the FA Cup and the League Cup.
And Rodgers said his experience of playing alongside Henderson in the England team was also a bonus.
"When there was the possibility he was available, we were surprised, but hopeful we could get him," Rodgers said.
"His talent is undeniable. He is in two and a half hours before he trains and he gives his maximum in his work.
"He prepares himself as an elite player should.
"He has great character and will be a great allay for Jordan Henderson. He is a great character in the dressing room."

Rodgers has also appointed three new members of his back room staff this summer, including former Reds and Leeds United player Gary McAllister.
"It is working so well so far," the boss said.
"It was needed. It has galvanised the players with the new players coming in and the three coaches coming in.
"You can't perform like we did it the end of last season if you want to be a top club."
Liverpool face Stoke in their opening Premier League game this Sunday, with Milner and Henderson both expected to start.
