Arsenal have made an improved £35million bid for Real Madrid's Karim Benzema.
The Gunners reportedly had a £31m offer turned down by Real last week, with the player's agent insisting he is set to stay in Spain.
But according to the Telegraph, Arsene Wenger is refusing to give up on the French striker and has lodged another bid to encourage a change of heart.
Theo Walcott has agreed a new four-year deal.
The 26-year-old was entering the final year of his current contract and had been linked with a move to Liverpool.
But the Mirror claim Walcott has now agreed to remain at the Emirates until 2019 on a salary that will make him one of the club's top earners.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has reiterated that he is not interested in a move to Arsenal this summer.
The Gabon striker had been linked with a £30million move to England, with Spurs also said to be interested.
But the player insists he remains confident he can win titles in Germany, telling Welt am Sonntag:"You can take it for granted that I am not going to waste any time thinking about giving up how happy I am at Borussia, in the city of Dortmund and with this team."
