Arsenal increase striker bid by £4m after wrapping up another deal
ARSENAL have gone back in with a £35million bid for Karim Benzema after being knocked back on their previous offer, according to reports.
Arsenal have reportedly bid £35m for Karim Benzema
The Gunners are keen to secure a big-name signing this summer in the same bracket as Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil over the past two off-seasons.
It is understood Real have already rejected a £31m bid for Benzema, 27, and are holding out for £40m.
But Arsenal hope they can strike a deal for the France international before the season begins, claim the Telegraph.
Earlier this week manager Arsene Wenger said the club were not close to landing the forward but wouldn't rule out a signing.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have reportedly agreed a new contract with Theo Walcott worth £100,000 a week.
Walcott, 26, is understood to have signed a four-year deal with the Emirates Stadium club, joining Olivier Giroud in committing his future to the side.
