Arsenal go all in for Real star Karim Benzema after ruling out Gonzalo Higuain move
ARSENAL are not optimistic about landing Karim Benzema from Real Madrid this summer, but have ruled out a move for Napoli's Gonzalo Higuain, according to reports.
Karim Benzema - Spotlight On
The Gunners have been linked with a £40million move for Benzema as they look to boost their striking ranks.
And it is claimed Arsene Wenger is willing to wait until the end of the transfer window to see whether the French striker remains part of Rafa Benitez's plans after pre-season.
But according to the Daily Mail, Wenger is not optimistic about luring the player - a favourite of Real chief Florentino Perez - away from the Bernabeu.
That could see the Gunners opt for a strike force of Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott next season.
Gonzalo Higuain wants to leave Napoli
It is claimed that Wenger will not move for Higuain, who is keen on a move away from Napoli.
Wenger rejected the chance to sign the Argentine in 2013 and is said to believe that unless Benzema is available there are very few forwards available that would improve his squad.
