Arsenal have entered the fray for wantaway Manchester City striker Eden Dzeko, according to reports.
The Daily Star claim Arsene Wenger is ready to swoop for the 29-year-old after contact talks with Roma have stalled.
It's understood the player's wages could be a sticking point for the Serie A side and Wenger is keen to bolster his attacking options for next season.
Olivier Giroud has welcomed the possible signing of a fellow Frenchman Karim Benzema.
The Real Madrid man has been linked with a move to the Emirates and Giroud admits he would relish the added competition up top.
He said: "If there is a new striker, it will be nice for all the team, because competition is good for everyone.
Arsenal are said to be poised to move for Man City's Edin Dzeko
I think he's going to be an outstanding talent but I don't think he's the finished article by any means
Arsenal great Martin Keown has advised John Stones against joining Chelsea this summer.
Jose Mourinho has confirmed the club's interest in the young England star after the Blues had a £20million bid rejected by Everton.
And Keown believes Stones should hold-off on making a big-money move and bide his time at Goodison Park.
He said: "Chelsea are moving now probably because they can see he's going to be the player they want but I'd rather see him play at Everton.
"I think he's going to be an outstanding talent but I don't think he's the finished article by any means."
