Boost for Arsenal and West Brom as Everton rule out a move for Man Utd's Jonny Evans
ROBERTO MARTINEZ has ruled out a move for Manchester United defender Jonny Evans.
Jonny Evans is not wanted by Everton
Reports had suggested that Everton were lining up an £8million bid for Evans.
The Northern Irish defender is thought to be surplus to requirements at Old Trafford, particularly if Louis van Gaal brings in another player in his position.
No, it's nothing.
Evans has been linked with Arsenal and West Brom this summer.
But Martinez insists that the Toffees are not amongst the clubs competing for his signature.
Asked about a move, he said: "No, it's nothing.
"There is nothing in that."
United suffered a further blow in their pursuit of Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos this morning when Rafa Benitez said the Spanish international was not for sale.
And that will see United step up their interest in other targets including Valencia's Nicolas Otamendi.
