Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney has admitted he has considered a move to the MLS once his career has begun to wind down.
Rooney joined the Red Devils in 2004 from Everton and has since gone on to score 230 goals for the club, making him their third highest scorer of all time.
However, Rooney admits he does not see himself finishing his career at the club, suggesting he could follow Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard to the USA.
He told the Seattle Times: "When that time comes, that (MLS) will be something that I will think about. I'll sit down with my wife and children and decide if it would be right for me."
The defender was not present at the club's unveiling on twitter which is surprising given the player's standing as a top player at the club.
And Spanish newspaper Marca have claimed the centre-back is looking to get a deal finalised before Valencia's pre-season begins on 26 July.
