United fly out for their pre-season tour to America this afternoon.
According to The Sun, De Gea was told that unless a deal was sorted out over the weekend then he would be staying put.
But after no transfer was agreed, it is claimed that United have told the keeper to get it sorted by this afternoon.
Louis van Gaal reportedly doesn't want any players on the tour that won't feature this season.
And De Gea could still be excused from travelling to the States if it looks like a deal will happen.
David De Gea is wanted by Real Madrid
Real confirmed over the weekend that Iker Casillas was joining Porto, paving the way for De Gea to return to Madrid.
But Real themselves jetted out to Australia on their own pre-season tour yesterday, potentially making last-minute negotiations difficult.
