United have already had a £20million bid rejected from the south coast side for the midfielder.
And Saints’ executive director of football Les Reed admits he has been bracing himself for another offer.
However, while Schneiderlin's future remains uncertain, a second bid from the Red Devils has yet to materialise.
“It’s very difficult to know where his future lies because, yes, there’s interest, it’s been well documented that they made a bid that we turned down, and that to an extent is their declaration of interest,” said Reed told the Daily Echo.
“I’ve been bracing myself for the big offer that goes ‘Right, take it or leave it,’ and that hasn’t come.
Les Reed says Southampton have not received another offer for Morgan Schneiderlin
“Unfortunately, because of the publicity surrounding it, Morgan will be thinking the same thing.
“I have to say Morgan’s been exceptionally professional, he’s turned up for training on time.”
“I’ve got no doubts about Morgan’s professionalism, but he certainly will have in his head some questions about what’s going on and all I can be is honest with him to say we haven’t received a bid that’s satisfactory and that’s where it stands.”
