Stoke's Bojan reveals where Man Utd and Cheslea target Begovic should go this summer
ASMIR BEGOVIC would be a perfect signing for Roma, Stoke team-mate Bojan Krkic claims.
Stoke's Asmir Begovic could join Roma this summer
Both Manchester United and Chelsea are chasing the 28-year-old goalkeeper but Roma have also emerged as suitors.
Chelsea reportedly want Begovic to provide cover for Thibaut Courtois if second-choice stopper Petr Cech leaves for Arsenal, while United are preparing for life without Real Madrid-bound David De Gea.
But Bojan believes his former club Roma should move in for the Bosnia international.
He told Corriere dello Sport: “Asmir Begovic? He's experienced and he has character.
"I don't know anything about the negotiations, but (Roma) can't go wrong with him.”
Bojan claims Roma "disrespected" him during his two-year stint in the Italian capital and hit out at the coaching set-up for his relationship breakdown with the club.
Best opening day fixture record
“I'm finally being played in my own role, unlike in Italy,” he said.
“I'm a striker. At the most I can play just behind the forwards, but not as a winger.
“Luis Enrique didn't know me well enough, I spent a complicated year working with him.
“Later, I wasn't part of the plans of the new Coach [Zdenek Zeman].
“And I had some problems with [director Franco] Baldini. On one day he was telling me to stay, on another that I may be sold. He disrespected me, that's all.
“But I'm grateful to Roma, they are the first club who opened their doors to me after Barcelona.
“It's a shame that our paths should have parted the way they did.”
