CONFIRMED: Standard Liege complete free transfer for Leicester outcast Anthony Knockaert
STANDARD LIEGE have announce the signing of Leicester City outcast Anthony Knockaert on a four-year deal.
Anthony Knockaert agrees four-year deal to join Standard Liege
The Belgian giants have landed Knockaert on a free transfer after the Frenchman saw out his contract at the Foxes.
The winger joined the ranks at Leicester in 2012 for a reported £750,000 from Guingamp and was an instant success in England.
The 23-year-old helped the club to the Championship play-offs semi-finals during his first season and then the title the year after, racking up 16 goals and 15 assists.
However, Knockaert failed to keep his first-team place in the Premier League and regularly found himself playing in the Under-21s side.
Foxes boss Nigel Pearson revealed the club had offered Knockaert a new deal, but he has instead opted to switch to the Belgian Pro League.
A club statement read: "Standard Liege welcome Anthony Knockaert and success under our colours. The French winger has signed a four-year contract."
