CONFIRMED: Watford appoint Quique Flores as new boss
WATFORD have appointed Quique Flores as their new boss, the club has confirmed.
Quique Flores is the new Watford boss
The Spaniard becomes the club's fifth boss in a year, after talks with promotion-hero Slavisa Jokanovic broke down, and has penned a two-year contract to take charge at Vicarage Road.
Flores, 50, has managed the likes of Benfica and Atletico Madrid in the past, leading the latter to the Europa League in 2010.
The Spaniard has signed a two-year contract to lead the Hornets upon their return to the Premier League
The ex-Real Madrid and Valencia right-back's most recent spell in management was with La Liga outfit Getafe, although he quit after just 11 games at the helm.
He will be assisted by Alberto Diaz and Antonio Carlavilla as well as long-serving Watford coach Dean Austin, with the club confirming: "Watford FC is delighted to announce the appointment of Europa League winner Quique Flores as the club’s new head coach.
"The Spaniard, who boasts a wealth of top-flight experience in his home country and Portugal, has signed a two-year contract to lead the Hornets upon their return to the Premier League."
