Chelsea icon confirms sensational transfer to European giants
FORMER Chelsea star Michael Essien is on the brink of joining Greek outfit Panathinaikos.
Michael Essien has revealed his latest destination on Twitter
The 32-year-old will leave AC Milan when his contract expires later this month, and is now set to link up with Yannis Anastasiou's men.
Essien enjoyed an eight-and-a-half year spell at Stamford Bridge after joining in 2005 from Lyon for over £24million, also fitting in a loan move to Real Madrid during the 2012/13 season.

The Ghana international made the move to the San Siro in January 2014, making 22 appearances in all competitions, but will now ply his trade in Greece after confirming the deal on Twitter.
