SUNDERLAND are set to turn to Sir Alex Ferguson to help find a successor to Dick Advocaat.

The Black Cats turned to Advocaat for his nine-game rescue mission in part to a glowing recommendation from the former Manchester United boss.
Sunderland’s sporting director Lee Congerton is again set to consult Ferguson after Advocaat snubbed an offer to extend his short-term stay as head coach.
Steve McClaren, David Moyes and Real Madrid assistant boss Paul Clement lead the candidates to become Sunderland’s sixth manager in a little over two years.
Ex-Roker Park defender Sam Allardyce is also among the favourites, but the 60-year insists he wants time out of the game after leaving West Ham.
