ARSENAL midfielder Francis Coquelin has revealed that he did not want to return to the club last December.

The Frenchman started the season on loan at Championship side Charlton but was recalled by Arsene Wenger just before Christmas.
And the 24-year-old admits he was reluctant to return to the Emirates, despite injuries suggesting he would get Premier League game time.
He told ESPN: "I wasn't happy when I came back. I was playing regularly even if it was in the Championship, and obviously to be on the bench, I was a bit frustrated.

"Then I started the West Ham game when I didn't expect it. It shows in football you really need to be ready at any time."
Since then Coquelin hasn't looked back, becoming a key figure at the heart of midfield and making 21 league appearances for the Gunners.
