CONFIRMED: Man Utd WILL play in Champions League after Liverpool defeat to Palace
MANCHESTER UNITED will play in the Champions League next season after Liverpool drew with Crystal Palace.

Liverpool could technically still have overhauled the Red Devils but they needed to win both their remaining games and have goal difference go massively in their favour.
But that possibility disappeared this afternoon as Palace ruined Steven Gerrard's Anfield farewell, winning 3-1.

And that means United will definitely be back in European football's top competition next season despite not playing Arsenal until tomorrow.
The club tweeted: "Following Liverpool's defeat to Crystal Palace, #mufc are now assured of a top-four spot & will play in the Champions League next season.
"Finishing fourth would require United to play a qualifier in August to reach the group stage."
