Sports stars take to Twitter to honour Liverpool star Steven Gerrard
A HOST of sporting stars have lined up to pay tribute to Steven Gerrard ahead of his final game for Liverpool at Anfield.
Steven Gerrard is sure to be emotional at the final whistle
Gerrard will make his last appearance at the famous ground when he faces Crystal Palace this evening (5.30pm) before joining LA Galaxy in the summer.
Match of the Day host Gary Lineker led the way, calling today "Happy Gerrard's day!"
Gerrard's former England team-mate David Beckham posted a photo of the pair together on Instagram with the caption saying "Loyalty."
Dietmar Hamann, tennis star and Liverpool fan Caroline Wozniacki, ex-England cricket captain Michael Vaughan, England's rugby world cup winner Will Greenwood also gave their thoughts on what is sure to be an emotional day for Gerrard.
