Advantage Man Utd? Liverpool do NOT need Memphis Depay this summer - Dietmar Hamann
LIVERPOOL should pull out of the race to land Memphis Depay because they don't need a winger, according to Dietmar Hamann.
Memphis Depay Player Profile
The Reds have been heavily linked with a move for Depay, with PSV claiming that the Anfield outfit have already held talks regarding a move.
Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain have both also been credited with an interest, but it is Liverpool who are the early favourites to land the Dutch international.
He's a winger not what LFC needs so a no for me.
But Hamann believes the 21-year-old won't address Liverpool's shortcomings this season.
With the likes of Raheem Sterling, Lazar Markovic, Adam Lallana and Jordon Ibe already on the books, the former German international says a winger should not be high on Brendan Rodgers' list of transfer priorities.

Hamann was asked on Twitter: "Do you think depay will sign for us? (LFC) I think he's exactly what we need. Suited to our style of play and scores goals."
But Hamann vetoed the idea, saying: "He's a winger not what LFC needs so a no for me."
Memphis Depay is a target for Liverpool
Reports earlier today suggested that PSV may be trying to draw United and Liverpool into a false bidding war for Depay by citing interest from PSG that may not be there.
Last week PSV sporting director Marcel Brands said: "PSG and Liverpool are indeed a step ahead of Manchester United in the race to sign Memphis.
"United have only informed us about their interest.
