Everton fear Tottenham may want too much for Aaron Lennon
The former England winger has impressed since a loan switch to Everton in January, scoring twice in 12 appearances, and is keen to remain on Merseyside.
Lennon was frozen out by Tottenham earlier this season, but Everton believe the London club will still ask for around £9m for a player who has just 12 months remaining on his contract.
Meanwhile, Everton are to give a trial next week to Crusaders teenager Gavin Whyte. The striker, 19, was named Northern Ireland's Young Player of the Year at the weekend and has previously been scouted by Roberto Martinez's side.
