Crystal Palace will not raid Newcastle for Tim Krul insists Alan Pardew
ALAN PARDEW insists he will not be launching a raid on former club Newcastle for Toon keeper Tim Krul.
Alan Pardew says Crystal Palace won't sign Newcastle keeper Tim Krul
The Dutch shot-shopper has been linked with a reunion with his former boss who quit St James’ Park to join Crystal Palace in January.
But Pardew is adamant he is happy with his current keepers Julian Speroni and Wayne Hennessey and has no intentions of adding the Holland international to his squad.
The Palace manager said: “There’s been no contact between me, Newcastle, the player and the agent.
“It’s unwelcome. I’ve got a great relationship with my goalkeeper here. I’m confident that Krul will stay at Newcastle.
“We’re looking at a number of players for the future but not a goalkeeper at the moment.”
I’m confident that Krul will stay at Newcastle
Palace face relegation-threatened Hull on Saturday and Pardew admits there is a risk his side could slip into a mid-table comfort zone.
He said: “I think it’s difficult for players and teams who have secured safety, which we have.
“And the motivation for myself, for Mark Hughes and Garry Monk and the other managers in the same position is to keep the focus of the players and the professionalism that’s needed, and the desire to win.”
