Klopp exit will NOT help Arsenal land Hummels, Reus or Gundogan - Wenger
ARSENE WENGER claims he is not expecting Borussia Dortmund’s best players to leave in the aftermath of Jurgen Klopp’s shock departure.
Marco Reus Player Profile
Klopp announced yesterday that he would be stepping down at the end of the season.
The 43-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester City - or even to replace Wenger at the Emirates.
But Wenger claims he finds the manager merry-go-round ‘a bit ridiculous’.
He said: “I’m not an agency to replace managers. I like every manager and respect everybody but I find that circus a bit ridiculous honestly.”
The likes of Mats Hummels, Ilkay Gundogan and Marco Reus have all been linked with Arsenal in the past.
Jurgen Klopp will leave Dortmund
Dortmund is a massive club and will survive and will keep their best players.
And with the charismatic Klopp stepping aside, it has been claimed that the star trio could follow him out the exit door.
But Wenger doesn’t think Klopp’s departure will necessarily help the Gunners in the transfer market.
He said: “I think it’s down to every club to make the right decision and we have to respect Dortmund.
“Dortmund is a massive club and will survive and will keep their best players.
“It’s a club with a big history and great results and great achievements so I don’t think that will stop Dortmund.”
