PSG face internal SPLIT over move for Man Utd's Di Maria or ex-Chelsea ace De Bruyne
PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN are set for an internal battle over who to target as a replacement for Ezequiel Lavezzi in the summer, according to reports in France.
Lavezzi - reportedly wanted by Liverpool and Tottenham - is expected to leave the Parc des Princes at the end of the season.
And while PSG appear happy to sanction a departure, there is thought to be a lack of consensus over who should replace the Argentine ace.
Manager Laurent Blanc has identified former Chelsea star Kevin De Bruyne - now at Wolfsburg but linked with Manchester United in recent weeks - as the man he wants to bring in.
But according to French Football magazine, PSG owner Nasser al-Khelaifi would reportedly prefer to make another attempt to land Angel Di Maria.
PSG were interested in signing Di Maria before he made a British record £60million move to Manchester United last summer.
Kevin De Bruyne is Laurent Blanc's preferred option
A player is not just a man who kicks the ball from A to B.
Financial fair play rules scuppered PSG's interest but Khelaifi wants to try again once Lavezzi is offloaded if he can persuade Blanc that the 27-year-old is a better option than De Bruyne.
While De Bruyne insists he wants to stay at Wolfsburg, Louis van Gaal has hinted that Di Maria could leave Old Trafford.
He said: "A player is not just a man who kicks the ball from A to B.
"His environment is influencing him.
"I shall always be open (to his sale) but I know that the commercial interests of the club and we have to respect that.
"You cannot give a lot of money for a player and next season put him out of your selection."
