Summer signing David Ospina has deputised and already made significant improvements to the Gunners' back-line, but Wenger is understood to still be keen on a new man between the sticks.
And according to today's reports in Germany, 22-year-old Leno - whose under contract until 2018 - is at the top of Wenger's wish list.

The foreign option is certainly appealing
Arsenal scouts have been instructed to keep an eye on him for the remainder of the season.
Leno has already opened the door for a potential switch from the Bundesliga to the Premier League.
The young goalkeeper said at the beginning of the season: “The foreign option is certainly appealing. A new language, a new culture – that I could definitely even imagine.”
The Gunners have also been linked with a move for Real Madrid veteran Iker Casillas, with today's reports in Spain suggesting he wants to find a new club in the summer.
