Liverpool goal hero Raheem Sterling thanks Brendan Rodgers for granting winter holiday
RAHEEM STERLING praised his Liverpool team-mates for their resolve after the Reds recovered from a goal down to draw with Chelsea in their League Cup semi-final first leg.
"Obviously at half-time we were disappointed to be 1-0 down but we said as a group we needed to stay in the game," he told Sky Sports.
"It was a great comeback from the boys. We tried to keep the ball better and tried to penetrate in the final third.

The winger also thanked Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers for granting him a week's leave to rest his legs after an energy-sapping start to the season.
"It's always good to get on the scoresheet and help the team out," he said.
"I've felt the benefit of the break because there are times you need a bit of rest and the manager gave me some time off and it's helped.
"We're still in the tie and Chelsea will be difficult but helpfully we can get a result."
And Rodgers himself said of the break: "This is about the boy's life and his career.
"People will talk about it but I'm only worried about the kid.
"You could see tonight he was probably fresher, not so much physically but mentally.
"He's had so much put on him so early in his career. There is no doubt he is an exceptional young talent."
