Newcastle owner Mike Ashley and Rangers accused of Scottish FA rules breach
MIKE ASHLEY has been accused of breaching Scottish FA rules over club ownership.
Mike Ashley currently owns 8.29% of Rangers
Ashley has been helping to keep Scottish Championship side Rangers afloat with financial capital over the past few months and currently holds an 8.29% share in the club.
Although he has promised not to exceed a 10% share, the Newcastle owner has enjoyed some influence at Ibrox, appointing two directors following a £2million loan in October.
Ashley, along with Rangers, have been served with notices of complaint concerning dual ownership, which breaches Scottish FA rules.
Last month the 50-year-old injected a further £1m into the beleaguered club after former Newcastle managing director, Derek Llambias, was appointed a non-executive director.
The news comes hours after Rangers confirmed manager Ally McCoist has resigned and is serving a 12-month notice period.
