The vine of his skewed scissor kick, that incidentally would have ended in a throw-in, has been shared thousands of times on social media networks.
Torres had the opportunity to become a San Siro hero, with ten-minutes remaining of AC Milan's encounter with Fiorentina
But instead of cementing his place in Milan history, the forward continued his worryingly barren run in Serie A, by completely missing the target.
In Torres' defence, the opportunity was extremely difficult, but that hasn't stopped Twitter users tucking into him.
According to German newspaper Bild, Roberto Di Matteo is keen on rekindling his working relationship with the 30-year-old, and will launch an offer in January.
It may be the only chance Torres has to resurrect his ailing career.
