PICTURES: Daniel Sturridge RETURNS to training to give Liverpool big boost
DANIEL STURRIDGE has given Liverpool a much-needed boost as he returned to full training yesterday.
The 25-year-old, who hasn't played for club or country since picking up a thigh injury last month, trained at Melwood.
The striker put pen to paper on a new five-year contract last weekend, which will see him stay at Anfield until 2019.
His return to training will give Brendan Rodgers a boost, as the Reds have struggled in his absence.
Sturridge was joined by Steven Gerrard, Mario Balotelli, Fabio Borini, Joe Allen and Jose Enrique - all of whom are not involved in international action.
He may target a return against QPR on October 19 or the following weekend against Hull.
However, concerns remain over Dejan Lovren.
The defender pulled out of Croatia's squad for the Euro 2016 qualifiers, and it could potentially leave Rodgers short of centre-back options.
