England 5 - San Marino 0: Man Utd's Rooney and Arsenal's Welbeck impress in Wembley romp
GOALS from Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney and Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck helped England cruise to a comfortable 5-0 win against San Marino at Wembley.
The European minnows were never expected to make a dent against Roy Hodgson's men, with the result sending the Three Lions top of Group E with six points.
England started brightly but could not find a way past San Marino's keeper in the opening stages.
However, the home side took the lead after 24 minutes courtesy of a Phil Jagielka header powered in from a corner.

Rooney then doubled his side's advantage from the penalty spot two minutes before half-time after the England skipper was hacked down in the box.
Welbeck struck his 11th England goal in the 49th minute, latching onto a terrific ball from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, before Spurs winger Andros Townsend fired home from 20 yards out in the 72nd minute.
An own-goal from Alessandro Della Valle wrapped up the action for the evening, and England will be hoping for a repeat result when they take on Estonia on Sunday.
