Toni Kroos AGREED to join Man Utd… but move collapsed when Louis van Gaal took over!
MANCHESTER UNITED had a deal in place to sign Toni Kroos this summer, but Louis van Gaal's appointment scuppered the move.
Axed United boss David Moyes had lined up a swoop for Kroos, but was sacked in April.
But according to former Norway international Jan Aage Fjortoft - now a TV pundit in Germany - Van Gaal's arrival saw the deal collapse.
"Been told from very good sources that Toni Kroos agreed to join Man Utd. But after Moyes out - Van Gaal in: Kroos said no," Fjortoft tweeted.

Kroos eventually left Bayern Munich for Real Madrid in a bargain £20million deal.
But it appears he could have been plying his trade at Old Trafford were it not for Van Gaal.
The claim is even more remarkable given the Dutchman managed Kroos - and helped him come through the ranks - at the Allianz Arena.
