Birmingham-born Agbonlahor, capped three times by England, made his Villa debut in 2006 and came through the ranks at the club. The 27-year-old’s previous contract had been due to expire at the end of this season.
“I’ve always enjoyed my football here through the good times and the bad times,” he said. “It was big for me to stay here. I owe the club a lot for offering me the chance.
“I have never thought of leaving Aston Villa and the thought of pulling on a different shirt doesn’t feel right.”
Villa will now turn their attention to securing the futures of Fabian Delph, Ron Vlaar and young talent Jack Grealish, who all have 12 months remaining on their existing deals.
