Marouane Fellaini is hoping to nail down a regular place under Louis Van Gaal[GETTY]
The Belgium international joined the Red Devils a year ago, with David Moyes splashing almost £28million to secure his services from Goodison Park.
However, Fellaini endured a miserable season under the Scot, failing to score in just 21 appearances.
Napoli were keen to take the 26-year-old off Van Gaal's hands, but a move failed to materialise before deadline day.
Fellaini is now fighting fit and ready to challenge for a place in United's starting XI against the likes of Michael Carrick, Ander Herrera, Daley Blind and Darren Fletcher, warning his rivals: "I want to fight for my place.

Marouane Fellaini
"The coach wants to play with the 11 players who make the best team. I want to be part of that.
"I've had a meeting with the coach before the start of the season where he told me that there is a lot of competition in midfield. I told him that I wanted to compete with the other players for a place in the starting XI.
"Louis Van Gaal is a good coach. We have a lot of team meeting and he analyses much - other teams, our own players at training, a lot. Everywhere he has been, he was successful."
