Ice cold! Swansea HIJACK Crystal Palace's £8m bid for Tottenham star Gylfi Sigurdsson
SWANSEA are preparing to hijack Crystal Palace's £8m bid to land Tottenham's Icelandic midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson.
Tony Pulis' side had looked on course to sign the 24-year-old, however a late charge from the Welsh club could see Sigurdsson return to Swansea.
The former Reading man spent a season on-loan with Swansea, netting seven times in just 18 league games - a record that caught the attention of Tottenham who signed him for £8.8m.
But just two-seasons later, the North Londoners are ready to allow Sigurdsson to leave White Hart Lane, and are using their pursuit of Ben Davies to seal the deal.
Swansea's coveted left-back will make a £10m switch to Spurs after completing a medical later this week, and it's believed that Sigurdsson will be part of a proposed swap deal.
The news will come as a bitter blow to Eagles fans, many of whom were excited about the prospect of Sigurdsson pulling the strings in the heart of midfield.
There have also been reports that Tottenham are eyeing-up Dutch goalkeeper Michel Vorm.
It is unclear whether Vorm will be involved in the prospective swap - Tottenham may opt to pay cash for the 30-year-old who is likely to lose his starting spot to Lukasz Fabianski.
