Welsh star Aaron Ramsey vows 'hungry' Arsenal will fight to emulate FA Cup success
AARON RAMSEY believes Arsenal's FA Cup heroics have given the side a renewed 'hunger' and elevated their ambitions for the new season.
The 23-year-old, who ended the Gunners' nine-season trophy drought, took part in a question and answer session on Twitter today.
He discussed his determination to build on last season's success, and hinted his side will target more than one trophy.
"I think now that we've won the FA Cup, this team has become hungrier to win things. I'm sure we'll give it a good go.
Hopefully we can have a successful year and win a few things
"Hopefully we can have a successful year and win a few things."
Meanwhile Arsene Wenger confirmed to radio reporters that his side are closing in on a deal for Chilean star Alexis Sanchez.
Sources in Spain now suggest Barcelona have agreed to an improved fee in the region of £28million for the 25-year-old, with their main summer transfer target, Liverpool forward Luis Suarez expected to head to the Nou Camp in the coming days.
Wenger is set to return to club duties following the World Cup final, when Arsenal will press on with their pre-season plans, which see a trip to New York at the end of the month.
The Gunners will host the Emirates Cup at the start of August, before tackling Premier League champions Manchester City at Wembley.
