Atletico Madrid beat Man City to 'new Sergio Aguero' Angel Correa
ATLETICO MADRID have agreed a deal with San Lorenzo to sign Manchester City target Angel Correa.
The 19-year-old striker, dubbed the new Sergio Aguero, is set to join the La Liga champions on a five-year deal, subject to a medical.
City were reportedly lining up a summer move for Correa, who found the back of the net eight times and assisted 14 in the Argentinian top-flight this term.
An Atletico statement read: "Our club have reached an agreement with San Lorenzo of Almagro for the transfer of the young Argentinian talent, pending a medical."
Atletico Madrid are set to finalise the deal of Angel Correa
San Lorenzo chief Matias Lammens confirmed that Correa will join the Champions League finalists for £5.7m and claims the teenager could be loaned back for another season.
Lammens said: "Atletico will let Correa play in the semi-finals of the Copa Libertadores for us.
"Angel will arrive in Spain in August, with the pre-season work already done. There is a chance that they could loan him back to us."
