Sheffield Wednesday 3 - Blackburn 3: Nuhiu’s two on sad day
ATDHE NUHIU made sure both clubs got a point on a day football was secondary. A red rose was placed on each of the 96 seats painted white to remember victims of the Hillsborough disaster.
Both managers laid wreaths – Blackburn boss Gary Bowyer was among the Nottingham Forest supporters on that fateful day.
Jordan Rhodes put Blackburn ahead. Lewis Buxton equalised before Craig Conway’s 25-yard effort and Michael Keane’s header put Rovers 3-1 up.
Nuhiu gave Wednesday hope, then equalised four minutes into stoppage time.
Owls boss Stuart Gray said: “I think the match showed everything that’s right about the game. It was very sad thinking about what happened 25 years ago.”
